Richaven served as the Senior Historic Architect for the completion of (3) Historic Structures Reports for the restoration of the 1922 Ranger Station, 1938 Pump House, and 1962 Generator Building and Preservation Plan for the rehabilitation of the Alpine Visitor Center in the National Register listed historic district.

Part of the Mission 66 program, the Alpine Visitor Center is a Mid-Century Modern visitor center that is buried under the snow for 8 months of the year. Extreme weather conditions impacted all of the buildings and structures.

Mr. Rich advised and supervised design efforts with respect to all impacts to the district. Key issues included architectural rehabilitation, exterior envelope performance and restoration, materials testing and analysis, condition assessment, as well as impacts on the natural and cultural landscapes and view sheds at the site.
